Winter Clothe Distribution Among 3000 Students

Since inception, Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS), Netrakona has been running Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE) program to ensure primary education for the children of poor and backward families of the society. At present, SUS is running 100 schools in Netrakona sadar, Atpara, Madan, Kendua and Purbadhola (Shyamgonj) upazilas of Netrakona district with the funding of Triton Textile Limited. Total students in 100 schools are 3000 (Boys: 1332 and Girls: 1668). Most of the students belong to the poor families. Many parents are not able to buy winter clothes for their children. So, Triton Textile Limited and SUS decided to distribute winter clothes among the students.

Sabalamby Uunnyan Samity (SUS) distributed winter clothes among 3000 students of 100 Non-Formal Primary Education (NFPE) schools of Netrakona sadar, Atpara, Madan, Kendua and Purbadhola (Shyamganj) upazilas of Netrakona district by the financial assistance of Triton Textile Limited (TTL) from 3rd December to 7th December 2023.

Showpoun Kumar Paul, Acting Executive Director and Kazi Sohul Ahmed, Director (Program) & Focal Person-Education Program of SUS were present during distribution. Distribution activities were conducted in each school in presence of all the parents and students along with the concerned Project Supervisors, School Teachers, School Management Committee (SMC) and Civil Society Representatives. Md. Abdul Quddus, Program Manager and Sheikh A.K.M. Shohidul Islam, Coordinator of Education Program monitored field level distribution activities. It is noted that the Upazila Agriculture Officer, Upazila Education Officer of Madan upazila and the Upazila Secondery Education Officer of Atpara were attended during distribution in the aforesaid areas.

Immediate Results:

  • Students are happy.
  • Parents are happy.
  • Interest of parents has been increased in sending their children to school regularly.
  • Interest of the local people has been increased in overseeing the activities of the school.

Feelings After Getting Winter Clothe
Samia Akter, a student of Raydhum Ruhi NFPE School, Sabalamby Unnayan Samity in Netrakona sadar upazila said, “I am a daughter of a poor family. My father is an agriculture day laborer. We don’t have the financial ability to buy a good winter clothe.  I am very happy with the winter clothe. Now, I will be able to come to school comfortably during cold days. I would like to offer my thanks to SUS and Triton Textile Limited.
