Food Package Support (WFP & PKSF)
Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS) implemented a project named “Emergency food assistance to the Flood affected population in north-eastern Bangladesh” with the support of United Nations World Food Program (UNWFP).
A Food Package (Each Family: 40 kg rice & 4 kg lentil) along with cash taka 2500 each family through BIKASH of their respective mobile numbers has been distributed among 4300 flood affected families under 10 unions of 3 upazila (Kalmakanda, Mohangonj and Khaliajuri) of Netrakona district by the financial assistance of World Food Program (WFP) in presence of UNO of 3 Upazila, all Union Parishad Chairmen & members and Ms. Sabina Saeed, Mr. Shasankor Das along with other representatives of WFP. The government officials e.g. PIO, DRO were also present in the distribution program. Krishibid Md. Altafur Rahman Selim, Director (PSU), Golam Mostafa Rezu, Director (Program), Narayan Chandra Sarker, Director (Finance & Admin) and SM Rezaul Haque Mamun, Project Coordinator of this project & other staffs like Upazila Officer and Field Facilitators of Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS) took active parts to ensure smooth distribution of the food commodity package among the beneficiaries at each place accordingly.
Food Packages have been distributed among 302 Flood Affected Group Members (Each member has received the food items of Rice: 5 kg, Lentil-Dal: 1 kg, Soybean Oil: 1 litre, Salt: 1 kg & Orsaline: 5 packets) under Livelihood Development Program (LDP) of Sabalamby Unnayan Samity (SUS) of 21 villages under 3 unions (Dharmapasha sadar, Selborosh and Paikurati) of Dharmapasha upazila of Sunamgonj district by the assistance of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF). Kazi Sohul Ahmed, Deputy Executive Director (DED), Krishibid Md. Altafur Rahman Selim, Director (PSU), Chowdhury Abu Barketh Md. Ali, PM (LDP), Md. Jahangir Alam, RM (LDP), Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan Pathan, BM (LDP), Mohangonj, Md. Azizul Haque, BM (LDP), Dharmapasha and other LDP staffs of that area were present during distribution. We offered our heartiest thanks, love and gratitude to the authority of PKSF for extending their hands of cooperation for the sake of Flood Victims.
