Discussion Meeting at Tea-stall

Discussion Meeting at Tea-stall
To achieve the results of the project, different activities such as courtyard meetings, male gathering, youth gathering, etc. are being implemented to prevent violence against women and girl-child in ASTHA project areas. As a continuation of these activities, discussion meetings at tea-stalls of different unions are being arranged with males and youth so that they can play a supportive and active role to prevent violence against women and girl-child. We believe that it can be possible to reduce the violence against women and girl-child through the joint effort of men and women. Farmers, students, day laborers, service holders, civil society, people’s representatives along with people of different professions present at the tea-stall discussion meeting. The male can understand about the demerits of violence against women and girl-child and early marriage through discussions at tea-stall and can know about which institutions are providing these types of services and also get the government hotline numbers such as 109, 999 and 16430. As a result, mental changes happen among them. A total of 62 meetings with 1811 participants (Male: 1789, youth: 9 and women: 13) participated in the discussion meetings at tea-stalls.
